Chloé Weinfeld is a French illustrator based in Lyon. She graduated from ESAA Duperré in Visual Communication, and from a DSAA Création Typographique at ESAIG Estienne in 2008. She worked several years as a graphic designer in Paris and Berlin. From 2015 to 2019 she taught typography at ECV Lille to undergraduate students before turning definitively to illustration.
Today, Chloé paints with gouache surrealist scenes with lush vegetation and bright hues, influenced by her childhood spent in Reunion Island and her many travels. Her complex and joyful compositions combine dreamy architectures and untamed nature, following imaginary explorations. Her universe remains deeply marked by the rich landscapes of the island of her childhood, a land of contrasts where the intense light sculpts the volumes, revives the colors, and floods the reliefs. Captivated by the idea of a nature which takes back its rights through the stories and images of cities disappeared then found, her paintings are an invitation to escape and to dream.
