Thibault Marcilly is a French architect and illustrator born in 1987. He currently lives in Annecy in France. After studying architecture at "ENSA" in Marne-la-Vallée and at the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark, he obtained his diploma in architecture in 2012 and several of his research projects have been exhibited and published in the specialized press. He developed a sensitive approach to the project through hand-drawing, and focused on the rehabilitation of old buildings and to the question of housing. In 2021, he graduated from SciencesPo Paris after a master's degree directed by Bruno Latour, who introduced him to research in ecology.
At the same time, he has been developing his activity as an illustrator since 2018, and now devotes most of his time to it. He usually works with different mediums such as ink, watercolor, pastel and graphite, in order to illustrate cities and landscapes that are mostly imaginary, trying to reveal the poetry of ordinary places wherever it may be, as well as the delicate relationship that architecture has with the living and the relief of its territory.
